Kaliegh Smith's Freedom Fund

Donation protected
After serving over 13 and 1/2 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, Kaliegh Smith was exonerated and released from his wrongful incarceration on June 13, 2021. As Innocence Project New Orleans (IPNO) helps him rebuild his life after an unimaginable injustice, please support him getting back on his feet. Kaliegh Smith was convicted of second degree murder in 2010 by a non-unanimous jury based on faulty testimony, Brady violations, and a lack of DNA testing. He has consistently maintained his innocence. This long-overdue release is just the start of his long journey, however, and he will need community assistance as he rebuilds.

All donations to this fundraiser will go directly to Mr. Smith. If you have questions, concerns, or would prefer to mail a personal check (please write the recipient as Kaliegh Smith, not to IPNO), please contact us at clientservices@ip-no.org. Mr. Smith also has an Amazon wishlist set up here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/genericItemsPage/3T2QKSIP37B9K
