SUPPORT FOR KALEPO'S RECOVERY

Donation protected
Greetings family, friends and to those whom I never met but after reading this will be touched to support through giving or simply just praying.

My name is not important but for the sake of connecting the relationship dots it's Paul Paopao.

I am starting this GFMP on behalf of my dearest nephew Kalepo Naotala,  the son of my sister Shantell and her husband (my brother in-law) Tony Naotala.

My nephew Kalepo was injured in a life-altering accident on July 1 of this year and I am reaching out on behalf of all of Kalepo's uncles, aunties and cousins to ask you for your prayerful financial support for our dear nephew and cousins road to recovery.

In December of 2016 Kalepo flew in from Newport News, Virginia to spend a couple weeks with me in Oceanside, California.

The purpose for Kalepo coming to Oceanside was to visit family and get some football training in before he departed for his much-anticipated journey to start his freshmen year at the University of Hawaii on a football scholarship. Which would begin in January of this year.

While he was visiting me Kalepo and I became closer than ever.  I physically trained him through a strenuous daily workout plan that consisted of weight lifting, running and Kalepo’s favorite part of the training eating his mom’s cookies he had hidden in his workout bag loll.

Another part of Kalepo's training regimen included spiritual growth through the study of God’s Word. The emphasis of Kalepo's spiritual training was in following Gods plan as laid out in Jeremiah 29:11-14.

I can recall one specific one on one spiritual session we had like it was yesterday where I encouraged Kalepo to prepare his heart for ups and downs, good and bad times, times of fulfillment and times of loneliness. And finally I shared with Kalepo in college he will face daily battles and be confronted sometimes with impossible challenges.

In my heart when Kalepo departed for The university of Hawaii on the last week in December of 2016 from Oceanside, California I knew Kalepo was ready for the physical & spiritual challenges that he was about to face as a student/athlete.

Hearing periodical reports from the University of Hawaii earlier this year in April, May and June through newspaper articles and talking to my sister and Kalepo by  phone. I was not surprised that Kalepo had put himself in a position academically and athletically to compete for playing time this year for Hawaii’s football team.

It seemed like my departing counsel to Kalepo in December of 2016 to be prepared for battles and impossible challenges was far from what Kalepo was going through and that the immediate future was bright.

Then, as quick as you can count 1,2,3 the immediate bright future turned dark quickly on July 1 of this year. Kalepo and some friends from his football team were having a fun day swimming at a beach in Waikiki Hi called the wall. Kalepo’s accident at the beach that day shocked family, friends and everyone who else who watched the news stations and read the newspaper articles.

Since his July 1st accident, Kalepo has been in intense physical rehabilitation. His recovery started in Hawaii and he is currently continuing his recovery in Denver, Colorado as Kalepo is being treated for being paralyzed from the neck down.

As you can imagine the cost for this life altering accident increases everyday Kalepo is being cared for. As your heart is lead to help my nephews family we thank you ahead of time for your heart given prayerful financial support as we ask the Lord to continue to be glorified through Kalepo's recovery and your giving.

On behalf of our entire family we thank you for your time and from the bottom of our hearts we thank you and love you once again ahead of time for your financial love gift.

Sincerely and dearly,

Paul Paopao & Family
