**Help Refugee Teachers Give the Gift of English – Even a Few Euros Can Change a Life**
My name is Erin O'Byrne. I'm an English language teacher and teacher trainer.
When I learned about four incredible volunteer English teachers working inside the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya, I couldn’t turn away.
These teachers are doing something extraordinary: they’re helping refugee women learn English—a lifeline skill that opens doors to education, independence, and opportunity.
But right now, they’re doing it with nothing.
No notebooks. No pencils. No chalk. No paper.
Can you imagine trying to teach a class without a single pen or piece of paper?
That’s the reality they face every day. And still, they keep showing up. Because they believe, like I do, that every woman deserves a chance to learn.
I’ve started this fundraiser to send them the basic supplies they desperately need:
pens, notebooks, chalk, blackboards, markers, scissors—and hopefully, one day, a projector or a computer to reach even more learners.
**If everyone reading this gave just €5—the cost of a coffee or a pint—we could make a real, lasting difference.**
Together, we can stock a classroom, support these teachers, and empower refugee women who are trying to build a better future against all odds.
Teaching is never easy. But it’s nearly impossible when you have absolutely nothing.
Please give what you can, and share this appeal with anyone who believes in the power of education.
Thank you,
**Erin O’Byrne**
