Kaje & Cheyenne Ronco's Journey to Wellness

Donation protected
What is CDH? Kaje Orion Ronco (pronounced "Cage") came into our lives on July 20th, 2019 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso, IN. He was immediately flown to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN. The outlook was grim. Kaje was born with a birth defect hindering proper lung formation, called CDH, and has been in a battle for his life since day one (more information on CDH can be found above). While other babies are learning and playing, he has yet to see the outside of a hospital room, let alone the outside world. This tiny infant has already undergone three major surgeries. He is scheduled for another surgery on November 22nd. There will likely be more operations, as the Doctors and nurses continue in their efforts to save his life. Best case scenario, Kaje will still be at the hospital for several more months.  At 22 years of age, his young mother Cheyenne has been with Kaje since he arrived at Riley. She left her hospital room in Valparaiso just hours after giving birth in order to constantly be by Kaje's bedside. Blessed with free housing at this time, she is still living over two hours away from home. She is currently not working, as she has been away from her Valparaiso home since July 20th...in order to always be holding her baby's tiny hand.  Understandably, Cheyenne has been struggling with the gravity of the entire situation. While she keeps a smile on her face and remains strong for her precious son, she herself is fighting to keep her head up every day. And now, because of extenuating circumstances, her insurance has lapsed. Our family is hoping to help Kaje and Cheyenne in the battle of their lives. Whether monetarily, by saying a prayer for these two young souls, or both, you can help us get through this together. Where will any donations go? Cheyenne was employed as a C.N.A. up until Kaje's birth. She has somehow managed to scrape together the funds to pay her bills, but money is now running very very low. She needs to be able to keep up on her auto insurance, buy food, a few toiletries, pay for her own healthcare and medication until she can get her insurance situation squared away, take care of a cell phone bill to keep us all up-to-date, as well as buy gas to get to and from Valparaiso on the rare occasion she heads back for a few hours. This girl truly comes home long enough to visit with family, gather some essentials, and heads straight back to Indianapolis. Not to mention, baby boy is still growing, and will eventually need new, larger, warm clothing. Thank you for hearing our story. Any donation, of any amount, is going to help Kaje and Cheyenne. And even if you are unable to donate, please say a prayer for these two brave fighters. Prayers are heard - mommy and baby need all the help they can get.
