Mother to two beautiful children, recently engaged, this smart and wonderful woman of a mere 23 years of age is fighting off cancer at such a young age. She is only asking for a bit to cover the lost work time that her fiancé will have to take off from work in order to help her recover post-surgery (the second time around in less than six months).
Time line is as follows...
Diagnosed October 14th 2016 Papillary carcinoma 2.4cm nodule
Surgery: July 14th 2017 total thyroidectomy...doctors found positive lymph nodes but opted against neck dissection
Thyroglobulin levels came back high...mentioned neck pain.
Ultrasound, biopsy, and CT scan confirmed 2 enlarged, necrotic lymph nodes. One 3.7cm, and the other 2.6cm. (Both larger than the original nodule). One lymph mode biopsied was definitely positive for papillary carcinoma.
Radiation cannot target large masses, so She needs an additional surgery to remove all the lymph nodes on the right side...it's gonna suck. That surgery is November 6th.
After surgery, the plan is to move forward with Radiation.
Right now, we have about $200 in outstanding medical bills. Fortunately, her insurance has covered a lot of the costs. There will be more bill post-surgery, but they haven't seen them yet.
Anything, large or small, will help this young family in need. Thank you! This is my best friend and I’d give her my kidney if she needed it.
