Kaitlin's Freedom

Donation protected
Let me start by saying writing this is not easy for me. Lots of praying and searching has led me to this post.  My daughter Kaitlin is an 18 year old young lady living with Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and Hydrocephalus. For the last 18 years I did everything possible to accommodate her in ever way I physically could. I have carried her, packed wheelchairs and pushed electric chairs up a ramp into a van too small. I have finally come to the realization that I need to surrender my pride and my  stubbornness and put my daughter's needs first.
Today I am asking for help. I have been able to purchase a newer minivan that is eligible for adaptations for her electric chair. This means she can drive right in and I will no longer need to lift her. Kaitlin would be able to go and do anything she wants. I unfortunately have chose to not take her places due to the hassle of loading her chair into my old van.  Chad and I have applied for two grants for people with disabilities in PA. We were approved for the first one. This grant gave us 10,000 towards the adaption. The second Grant, unfortunately we were not approved for due to overwhelming applications. This leaves us several thousand dollars short of making Kaitlin's dream a reality. So here I am putting myself out there for help. I would have had a benefit to raise the money, but with only 4 weeks until we need to have the work started it's just not enough time. Anything will help and I promise you this is life changing for our family. God Bless You All.
