Kai's veterinary medical bills

This is Kai. Her third birthday is on January 8th, and she is my best friend. Today I thought I was going to lose her.

Kai had a seizure.

I immediately rushed her to the vet, and after several hours of testing it was revealed my sweet girl has lyme disease, heart worm disease and suffered (minimal) liver damage due to the severity of her seizure. In July she tested negative for heart worm disease, and continued on with her monthly prevention. She contracted the lyme disease about a month ago during one of our Camping adventures in Pennsylvania. The vet is unable to determine when or how Kai got both of these diseases while on consistent medicine, but that does not change the fact that she is sick.

Kai is a very strong dog, and sometimes I think she's stronger than me. I rescued her on August 14th, 2015 and the first video and two pictures you see are from the day I decided she was going to be my best friend. She came from a home where she was unwanted and unloved, and I couldn't understand why or how anyone couldn't want her. She's the most smart, playful and wonderful pup a 20 year old girl could ask for. We do everything together. Literally. Everything. She loves to stick her head out the window, prance around the dog park with her fancy tail, eat peanut butter doggie cookies and get infinite belly rubs. She's my support and always has been since the day we met. I never want to imagine a world where my best friend does not wake me up with kisses and head butts.
