Kai’s Funds (Medical Expenses and Quality of Life)

Hello. My name is Geli and this is for my dog Kai. He is a 5 year old Staffordshire Terrier that loves to play, cuddle and just love on everyone. I have had him since he was 2 weeks old, bottle feeding him until he was able to eat on his own.

On January 15th, my fiancé and I had taken Kai and Maui on a walk. Something seemed very off with Kai as he was moving much slower along with feeling tired in less than 5 minutes into our walk. He is usually on top of his walks being ahead of everyone, so this was alarming. I felt his heart rate and it was going crazy. I called Dr. Olivia Winson from Solano-Napa Emergency Pet Clinic, describing what was going on and she adamantly told us to take him in. We rushed him to the clinic where he was admitted and they began testing. Turns out his heart rate was bouncing from 80 to 300 bpm. As they slowed down his rate, we managed to get him seen by a cardiologist at UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital to seek further testing. Over the course of 3 days, we learned he has an arrhythmia in the lower chamber of his heart that could be fatal.

We were devastated, emotionally distraught and stressed. We had broken down multiple times, taking time off work to stay updated with Kai’s status. We prayed for him to get better; to stay strong…and they are being answered. Thanks to the team of both Dr. Wood and Dr. Winson, Kai has been very well taken care of and looked for as he is currently staying over night at Solano-Napa Emergency Pet Clinic. He is getting stronger each day and he should be home soon.

We ask for donations since his medical emergencies were not on the cheap side and we want to be able to have enough to provide him what he needs once he’s home (food, medicine, etc.). Your donations will help cover fees and have funds towards helping Kai get back the life he deserves: his walks, his play times, and his peace.
