Kainth Family Fire Tragedy
“Above money, we need your prayers the most.” -Kainth family
On Saturday night, April 28th 2018, a fire with an unknown cause ripped through the Kainth family home in Queens Village, NY. They lost 3 family members and several were left critically injured. Most of the family members are still in the hospital recovering.
There was a total of 11 members in the household, ages ranging from 6 to 87 years old, and 8 were pulled out safely. There were about 140 firefighters battling the 3-alarm fire.
32-year-old, Harleen Kaur, saved her children and went back into the house to save the others and didn’t make it out. The grandparents, 82-year-old, Ragvir Kaur-Kainth, and 87-year-old Pyara Kainth also perished in the fire.
The Kainth household treated everyone like family and always tried their best to put a smile on everyone’s faces. It is our duty as human beings to give them the same love and care that they shared with everyone.
They lost everything in this horrific event; such as clothing, personal belongings, memories and even the roof over their head.
We want to help them get back on their feet and support them in this challenging process. We want to be able to alleviate their economic and financial stress while they are recovering in the hospital.
Baruch College’s United Sikh Association created a GoFundMe because Karandeep Kainth is like family to us, and no one's family deserves to suffer alone. He is a selfless and genuine person, and is always the first one to help in any situation. The least we can do is support him and his family in these troubled times.

UPDATE: Based on many requests, and the mounting expenses that the family have to face, we will be increasing the goal to $200,000.
