Kaiden's cranio surgery

Donation protected
Kaiden is 7 years old, he will be 8 on October 14. He is one of the most kind hearted, thoughtful and well rounded little boys I have ever met. To know him is to love him, he is just so full of life! Kaiden is scheduled for his next, and hopefully final, skull reconstruction. It will be Dec. 4, 2018. They will be expanding the back half of his skull to relieve pressure on his growing brain.  Kaiden was born with metopic craniosynostosis. This journey has been a roller coaster. He has endured several surgeries, his first at 14 months. He had an icp monitor placed in his brain to measure the pressure. This led to the reconstruction of the front half of his skull at 16 months. His dura (the lining of the brain) was punctured and he hemorrhaged. He began having seizures and was diagnosed with sensory processing disorder. He began therapies at 11 months old and continued them until he aged out at 3 years old. He has been so tough and resilient through all of the countless ct scans, mri's, blood draws and the endless doctor appointments.  He suffers from headaches/migraines. They are, at times, nearly debilitating for him. He sees a craniofacial surgeon in Dallas, Texas. After experiencing less than par care locally, I branched out to other children hospitals in Missouri. We hit dead ends each time, they didn't want to follow behind the work of the original surgeons. I broadened my search and found his current doctor in Texas. He has been seeing him since June of 2014. Fast forward to last year, it was determined that Kaiden may have increased pressure on his brain again. He had another icp monitor placed in his brain in March 2017. It indicated high pressure so a couple weeks later, he had a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) to drain some fluid in an attempt to at least temporarily relieve his symptoms. It did work but it was a very brief fix. He has now developed a "copper beaten skull" which is another indicator of increased pressure.  Being that we are going out of state for the surgery, I am facing financial strain to cover it all. Please bare with me while I try to find the words to ask for help. I've never been one to ask for help and I've always managed to pay for all his trips to Texas and medical bills along with all the bills and financial needs here in Missouri without help. But this one is different. In order to schedule his surgery, they require a $5000 deposit. $2500 is due the day of scheduling and the other $2500 is due 7 days before surgery. I have also had to sign a payment agreement for nearly $8300 to be paid after his surgery. This, nearly $13,300, is the portion that I will be responsible for, out of pocket, after insurance has paid their portion. This is only for the craniofacial doctor fees. The hospital, neurosurgeon and anesthesiologist will bill separately and I have not received their estimates yet. I'm also needing help for travel expenses, we will fly to and from Dallas and then I will be home from work with him for a period of time.
