Kahtyah & Baby Veritè : Legal Fees

This Spring our dear sister Kahtyah gave birth to a healthy beautiful baby girl, Veritè! Sadly, Kahtyah has had to take the father to court because of physical & sexual violence. Kahtyah is in the midst of a battle for custody & her own safety, and her legal fees are mounting. She is already in a difficult financial position as a single-mother, and she does not have a strong support system to fall back on. She is worried even about paying rent this month.

We are Kahtyah's support system & Kahytah needs our help now. Even a small amount will go very far to help her. If you have the capacity to give at all, it will mean so much, as she is struggling now simply to win these cases & establish a healthy home.

I have known Kahtyah since she was a little girl, she is like a sister to me, and she is such a strong and intelligent woman. She has gotten herself far by her own courage & tenacity, and she has many gifts to give back to her community & child as she grows. Our sister needs our support now to help her get through this rough spot so she can get on with her life.

I am immensely proud of Kahtyah's perseverance and determination to change the story for herself and her baby against great challenges. Even through it all she has continued her work in the Suquamish Museum archives, and speaking & educating on her Native Coast-Salish traditional culture & history. Once this is settled, Kahtyah is planning to go back to school, and now seriously considering advocacy work for native women, after this experience.

Let's lift Kahtyah up now, let's make it possible for her to win this protection & custody for her & Veritè's future.
