Who we are:
“I want to make music with you.”
These were the first words that I said to Ben Bazzrea as I stepped through the door of his job unannounced.
I hadn’t seen him in weeks, and we hadn’t worked on music together in years. But I knew in my bones that this is what had to happen for my dreams to start coming to life. Only a few weeks before, I had spent over a week in the hospital because my then-boyfriend literally tried to kill me. I lost my mind, my job, had to move back in with my mom, but I was finally free.
I realized after almost losing everything that I needed to start fighting for what I loved and following my passion. My drive has been and will always be music, and for the last two years I have worked with Ben and our team to bring our music to life in a way that matches our high standards. I’ve experienced so much love, so much growth, and have met so many incredible people on this path. We are now at the point where we want to go further but we are financially constrained in reaching our goals, and that’s where you come in!
What we’re raising money for:
We are working on finishing an album and we want to give it the proper promotion and fanfare that it deserves! That means making a music video for the lead single, R.A.D. Moves, and working with a PR firm to bring Kady Rain to the people of planet Earth. In order to do this, we’ll need some liquidity, and absolutely anything helps. How the money will be used:
Here’s the budget for what we have so far:
$1,500: Music Video Budget - Believe it or not, we’re actually only asking for half the total cost of the video! We want to do this thing right. To that end, we have a great director (who has worked on videos for FKA Twigs and Grimes no less!), we’re going through a casting company for models. We’re going to have hair and makeup, wardrobe, you name it. This isn’t your grandma’s music video.
$2,500: PR Campaign - This is a big one! We’ve been talking to several firms but the one we like the most has done PR for Sia, Morrisey, The White Stripes, Butch Walker, tons of people! It’s an amazing PR firm with a price tag to match. The crazy thing about this number, it’s not even enough to cover the whole campaign, but it will make a formidable dent!
$1,000: Physical Distribution/Merch - This one is a little more straightforward, we want every man, woman, and child wearing a Kady Rain t-shirt! But before our merch becomes the official t-shirt of planet Earth we have to have them pressed, which costs money!
How soon we need the funds:
The sooner we have the funds, the sooner we can finish the album and get it out to you, our lovely listeners! However, a realistic timeline is the end of May!
Why this means so much to us:
Nobody understands why they’re called to do something, they just feel it. I know for the first time in my life I am in the right place, and I can’t even express how incredible it is to have the opportunity to make my dreams come true. We want you to participate in this because we love you and we want to give back to you since you have so graciously helped us. We will be throwing a day party and filming our music video in Austin, TX this June and we want to invite everyone, EVERYONE to attend! If you donate $50 or more you get a free CD with all the fancy free downloads and we’ll draw a picture for you. Also, if you donate $150 or more and you’ll get all of the aforementioned things AND we’ll include you in the liner notes for the album AND the R.A.D. Moves video. :D
