Please help Kaden get a service dog!

Many of you know Kaden for his big smile and outgoing personality.  He is a tough kid and faces everything with a smile. Unfortunately, he has been sick for a few years now and we have watched his illness progress into something that has consumed his life. Kaden has spent much of 2020 in bed, at appointments, or admitted to the hospital. We have watched him have to give up the sports he loves, miss out on time with family and friends, and miss a lot of school.
                  Kaden has been diagnosed with an autoinflammatory disease called Behcet’s Disease.  This is a rare chronic disease that can cause inflammation in any of the blood vessels in your body. Behcet's Disease has no cure. Kaden has experienced painful ulcers, severe headaches, many abdominal complications, infections, rashes, skin lesions, swollen joints, seizures, and just overall fatigue and pain. Behcet's can cause many other very scary complications. Kaden is also being treated for other health issues that stem from all of the inflammation in his body. 


      Our goal is to get a service dog for Kaden. Having a service dog will help Kaden to regain independence and confidence, help him with daily tasks that can be very difficult when he is ill and alert us if he needs help.  A service dog will also provide comfort during difficult appointments and hospital admissions. We will be working with Dulebohn Service Dogs out of Wapakoneta, OH. Behcet’s has taken so much from him, but we are hopeful that a service dog will help give him a better quality of life.
