<div>After a rollover truck accident in 2002, Kabir lives with quadriplegia. He relies on a rotating team of 5 – 6 caregivers to provide the physical functions of life.
</div>

<div>Paid help needed every day: get out of bed, cook, feed, drink, wash, lift from the bath and toilet, change the colostomy bags, transportation to medical appointments and community activities, go to bed, and sometimes a wheelchair-push down the sidewalk.

<div>Since the accident, Kabir has worked relentlessly to balance life's physical and spiritual demands. Out of his lived experience, Kabir created Omni - Directional Care Awareness (ODCA) and MettaCare – ideas that benefit all who are disabled.

<div>Kabir's bravery and creativity helped him survive and thrive for 20 years, beyond

<div>the expectancy of most people with quadriplegia. As a result, he has outlived the

<div>accident settlement that sustained him.

<div>Kabir's vision of a better world of care for everyone is what keeps him vital and alive. This is why we need your short-term help to keep Kabir working in his home while paying his staff of caregivers.

<div>By staying in his home, Kabir can share his gifts with the world via writing, coaching, and developing ODCA / MettaCare.
</div>

<div>Being forced by finances to dismiss the care team and leave home would be a life-threatening loss of community and a blow to his creative work. His only options will be hospitals or poor-quality nursing homes.
</div>

<div>We hope to raise enough money to help Kabir thrive through the end of the year. This will allow Kabir and his support community to seek investments or grants for a newly launched non-profit supporting his work.
</div>

<div>Your contributions will pay rent, bills, food, clothing, and, most importantly, caregiving. Kabir also needs help with the logistics of recruiting, hiring, and training caregivers.

<div>The barebones cost of his care is upwards of $10,000 per month. With $20,000 per month, Kabir can work more and, we hope – thrive. So we ask for $60,000.
