Crystal's Funeral

Donation protected

On the early morning of June 15th, 2021, my sister, Crystal Irene Crockett, was fatally shot and killed by a coward, where she was left laying alone for hours before anyone had made an attempt to reach out to the police. Crystal had recently given birth to twin babies, not only does she leave behind two beautiful souls who will now have to grow up without their mother but also leaves behind her family who so dearly cared for her. As her sister, I have an obligation to tell her story so her voice can be heard even if she is no longer with us. Crystal was only 21 years old and was attending Malcolm X College to pursue a better life for her children, a new mom who was excited to raise her little ones and provide for them opportunities that she didn't have growing up. Unfortunately, that opportunity was taken from her forever. My sister meant everything to me, a bond that was so sacred that only those who have a sister would understand. Crystal meant the world to the Robinson/Crockett family. She had such a kindred soul, something many would describe as a "soul of gold." Always gentle, caring, kind, and loving. She was the quiet introverted type of person, many would say she never really talked until you got to know her, which is where her real energetic, loving personality would reach out and grab you. Crystal was a big sister to Kobe and I, but also a younger sister to Creston. She was very inspirational, knowledgable and so graceful. Anyone who knew this beautiful soul would say the way this girl carried herself was admirable and courageous. She had gone through a lot in life, yet still remained focused on her future. She stayed true to herself throughout her school years, never causing any sort of trouble or fuss. She was a bright student, someone who had passion for learning. 21 years were not enough for her to experience the beauty of life.

Our family needs help in this desperate time as we try to make sense of what has happened to our beloved Crystal. We would like to give her a proper burial and funeral and need as much help as we can get in doing so. We ask those of you who knew her and those of you who are hearing her story for the first time to please reach out and help in any shape or form. We would like to get any funds necessary by June 25th, 2021. All final expenses will be made by our family. Anything would contribute to giving my sister the most beautiful final goodbye we could offer. Please help us as we honor her name and legacy one last time.
