As we all know Cancer sucks and it affects many people, could you imagine having to fight this ugly disease for almost 9 years and still continue battling it every day with a smile on your face? Karen Ann Azzarelli Butler, does just that. She is the toughest, bravest person I have ever met. She loves life and most of all, her family is what she lives for. She's always willing to help others in anyway she can, especially when it comes to the North Pocono Community. She doesn’t just do it for her children she does it for all the kids in our community because that’s the kind of heart she has.
Most recently, On January 13, 2015, Karen, was diagnosed with lung cancer. She is now waiting to hear what her treatment will be for that. I want to share her long journey with all of you, so you can see exactly how strong and what an amazing person she really is. On May 18, 2006, she was diagnosed with stage 3B breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy. She was then in remission for 5 years. She was diagnosed with kidney cancer in March of 2011, and underwent kidney removal and chemotherapy. She was diagnosed with bone cancer in September of 2012, and underwent radiation. She was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer in April of 2013, and has been receiving chemotherapy ever since. In January of 2015, she was told it is now in her lungs and she is waiting to hear what her treatment will be.
Unfortunately Karen will never be cancer free. She will always have it but that doesn’t mean she will ever stop fighting the fight.
I know the holidays just passed and we all spent a lot of money. I also know there is a lot of people setting up go fund me pages for deserving reasons but were asking you to donate to this wonderful women, mother and wife, who has been and will always be battling cancer. Karen has a wonderful husband and two loving children as well, who also fight this battle with her every day. So we are asking you to donate anything you can to help her with the countless medical bills. We would like to raise enough money to help with their bills but also some money so they can take some type of family trip together with all of them so they can have some fun lasting memories together.
