To everyone who may not have yet heard the news, our loved one, James Hartsfield died tragically for reasons unknown.
Funeral plans are still being arranged by family. All updates regarding location and time will be posted here.
We are having a balloon release in honor of James at his grandmother, Effie’s home, located at 407 Meadowbrook Road in Gurdon Arkansas Friday October 13th at 5:00pm.
As you are all aware, James Hartsfield was a man of LIGHT! He was son to mom, Kotonya Porter who died when James was 15 and his father James Hartsfield Sr, who died when James was 4. Although the death of his parents caused James to experience darkness in his teen years, this difficult fact also helped him to become the LIGHT for so many others as an adult. Despite so much pain behind that big smile, James made it his duty to leave a lasting impression on every individual that he met. He would learn things such as politics, religion, and life coaching just so others didn’t have to feel any of the pain and void he carried in his heart. He was a very humble person and put out more good into this world than anybody.
What has happened is beyond comprehension, and we are all still in shock. Our family has literally only had one another to lean on after the death of our parents/daughter/sister/Aunt and James was an integral part of this unit. His departure is a devastating blow that we, like most any other family would have imagined we would have to go through. Understandably we are struggling to cope and are feeling a range of emotions which leaves us unsure of what to do, and unsure of how to ask for help when we have depended on ourselves alone, through hard times and now are without one of our greatest supporters and comforters with James no longer with us.
Please be assured we have read and appreciate all the texts and messages on Facebook. Your kind words and thoughts haves actually helped the family understand a lot more of the circumstances surrounding James’ death and we are forever grateful for everyone’s memories, concerns, and the information shared.
Many of you have asked in what way you can help, so this Go Fund Me campaign has been created as a resource to keep everyone up-to-date with funeral plans, and a place for messages as well as any donations to be left. The campaign is #JusticeForJames. All funds will go toward the funeral and burial costs, attorney fees, and to assist in the transportation of out of town elder family members who wish to see their baby in the flesh one last time.
