My name is Lucas from Pittsburgh, PA. After completing two years of college, the tuition costs just became too much and I was no longer able to afford to keep going. Growing up, I have always had my heart set to serve others and wanted to be able to do that in any capacity I could for work. My ultimate goal would be to work for an agency that protects our homeland and stop terrorism.
Since I had to cease my college journey for the moment, I decided to work full time to start
saving back up for school. This is beneficial for me because I am able to get experience and
more training, being this job is in public safety.
A major opportunity presented itself this year and there was no way I was going to turn it
away. I got selected to become a K9 handler
and will be able to expand my training and
service to the public. Not only am I excited for the work, but this will also definitely discipline me more ways than I can imagine.
It is no surprise that working K9s are
extremely expensive. And I am ultimately
responsible for the majority of the costs
associated including the K9 itself. I currently
have some savings set aside but it isn’t merely enough to cover it all. Once I can secure the
K9, we have a master trainer that will make usthe strongest duo in public safety.
This K9 is ultimately my responsibility, will be
living at home with me, and practically by my
side the entire day.
This opportunity expands my career path for
the future and will assist getting through
college a little quicker than the route I was on previously.
Thank you so much for reading and the
consideration. If you have any questions,
would like to stay updated, or are currently / were a K9 handler and have advice, just send me an
email! I would love to hear from you.
