K9 Loki- Boone County, IL
OFFICIAL FUNDRAISER FOR DEPUTY ROSENKRANZ AND DEPUTY K9 LOKI.
***We are asking anyone to help raise money for a new Boone County K9 for the department. All funds will go towards purchasing another K9 for the sheriffs department.***
1) I, Alexa Bloomfield, Belvidere, IL resident have organized this authorized event on the behalf of Deputy Rosenkranz, Deputy K9 Loki and the Boone County Sheriff Department.
2) Both Deputy Rosenkranz and the Boone County Sheriff Department have approved this fundraiser we have started on this go fund me platform.
3) All donations will be delivered to the Boone County Sheriff Department for their K9 program.
4) All donations will be delivered to the Boone County Sheriff Department the same day we stop accepting donations, with a check addressed to the Boone County Sheriff Department K9 program, on behalf of Deputy Rosenkranz and Deputy K9 Loki.
It’s with a heavy heart the Boone County Sheriff’s Office has to report that K-9 Loki was killed in the line of duty early this morning.
On December 27th, 2020, at approximately 1:30 am, Boone County Deputy Robert Rosenkranz and K9 Loki were conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 90 near Irene road, when a suspected drunk driver struck the rear of Deputy Rosenkranz’s squad. Thankfully, Deputy Rosenkranz was out of the vehicle and only received minor injuries from flying debris. K9 Loki however was in the vehicle at the time of the accident and was transported to Emergency Vet Clinic in Rockford where K9 Loki later passed.
The Illinois State Police, District 15 are investigating the accident.
The members of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office offer our deepest condolences to the Rosenkranz family. We ask that you keep the Rosenkranz family and our law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
