Hi, my name is Alice and I’m raising funds for my younger sister and her little family.

On Saturday 14th of June my sister’s home caught fire and is a total loss. Not only did they lose their home and everything in it, they also lost their new family car. Unfortunately as we never predict these kind of things would happen , they do not have insurance. Everything in the house has been deemed unsalvageable and the only things they could walk away with were their phones and purse. It’s been heartbreaking seeing my sister go through this as she’s taken pride with setting her house up beautifully. The main blessing is that we still have our family here with us, however we do ask for assistance with rebuilding their life.

Along with the family car, her entire family has lost everything from important documents, all furniture and right down to kids clothing. They’re aware that most material items can be replaced, however some items hold sentimental value and are irreplaceable. As much as she and her partner want to renter the home and recover what little wasn’t damaged from the fire, they’ve been advised by the fire department that remaining fumes from burnt material may be harmful and strongly suggest to not re-enter.

As distraught as she is, she’s aware how lucky she and her family are to come out of it unharmed. However they watched their house engulf in flames within 10 minutes, barefoot and heartbroken. I can’t imagine what it’s like to rebuild a life you’ve spent the best part of the last decade putting together, so I’m appealing to the wider community for any assistance in giving this family an encouraging start to their journey of recovery
