My husband was disabled, but had waited two years for his disability, which he never got. He was only 56. Henry was a 10 year veteran and received many awards while in the service. He was to go to Desert Storm, but somehow he didn't go. We were only married for 15 years, but they were wonderful years. He was an avid dog lover, so we had 5. I was the only one working and trying to get him the medicine he needed, but could not get it all. I thought he would get his disability sooner so he could get the proper medical care, so I never could get insurance for him. He passed away Friday, February 9, 2018. He will be cremated, which was his wish.
PEOPLE THINK THE V.A. PAYS FOR VET FUNERALS, BUT THE Y ONLY WILL PAY $300 AND IT TAKES THEM 2 WEEKS TO DO IT. Funeral homes do not wait for them.
