LTstrong

It started on September 17th LaTaunya was down in Tennessee visiting. We noticed a red area that was painful to her. She went to two different doctors in Sedalia and after 2 ultrasounds,  they just wanted to watch the area. That was not acceptable, so pursuing answers she followed up with a past doctor in Kansas City who referred her to a surgical colleague. Surgery was scheduled on November 8th and on November 13th her life was forever changed. "You have cancer" is not what my 29 year old sister was expecting to her. A diagnosis of stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma that is triple negative was made. This is a very aggressive breast cancer. After that a team of doctors were assembled to discuss what was to come next... That turns out to be 21 rounds of chemotherapy, double mastectomy, reconstruction, and then radiation.
LaTaunya is the strongest person I know, but even with that the chemo treatments have taken there toll, not only physically but financially. She has to miss a minimum of one day a week of work for chemo treatment. As more treatmen ts go on the more work she will have to miss do to physical demands of the chemo and future surgeries. Not to mention the 4 hour drive each week to the hospital. We are asking for help to be able to assist with medical bills, deductibles, travel expenses, and loss of income due to medical treatments. Thank you all that have been so supportive to LaTaunya and our family.
