5th Grade Field Trip to St. Louis!

My name is Emory Williamson and I'm the 5th grade Social Studies teacher at Egypt Elementary in Memphis, Tennessee. I work with 100 awesome kids who are eager to learn and explore the world.
We have the amazing opportunity to take a 3 day, 2 night trip with our 5th graders to St. Louis, Missouri where we will explore the variety of attractions the city has to offer.
I'm starting this fundraising campaign to help some of our students who may have a difficult time covering the financial requirements of the trip. For some students, this will be their first field trip outside of school in nearly 2-3 years. We are a high poverty school and understand the burden of paying for an out-of-state, multiple day field trip.
This is where you come in. Your donation will help offset some of the costs for our students to go on this trip of a lifetime. Your donation will allow our students to discover the Gateway Arch, the City Museum, the Saint Louis Zoo, and many more exciting attractions.
Want more encouragement? Last year, many in Memphis thought Egypt Elementary was yet another impoverished school not meeting expectations and on its way toward being taken over by the state. However, Egypt students excelled and even earned our elementary a "Reward School" status, which means we were in the top 5 percent of schools in Tennessee for progress. This clearly shows that ALL students, regardless of where they live or their financial status, can accomplish great things. With this, we'd like to reward our graduating 5th graders with an exciting end-of-the-year field trip to St. Louis! :)
