Support for Oliver and family

Donation protected
Dear Friends and loved ones,

On Feb 7th of this year, on the day our cousin Laura should have been celebrating her 43rd birthday, her young son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. One week later, on Valentine's Day, it was confirmed that the type he has is rare and extremely aggressive. It was the worst Birthday ever. Nine-year-old Oliver Francis will need a risky but life-saving bone marrow transplant in the next few months.

Laura is taking unpaid time off work for six months to care for Oliver, and will likely only be able to return part-time for the year after. Despite excellent health insurance that will pay for most of the $1.2 million dollar procedure, the family's cost of Oliver's care in the US is going to be significant. Laura will deplete her savings for these necessities.

We, who live so far away, can't drop by to offer a shoulder or a meal, but we can contribute in an essential way by giving Laura some extra money to be able to celebrate her Birthday with Oliver and Ryan all year long. There is so much stress and uncertainty in their lives. We've create a FUNd for those out of town loved ones to contribute to opportunities for Oliver, Laura, and Ryan's Joy: special meals, local trips, a bike for Oliver, and really anything else that will bring some lightness to their family, without having to worry about the cost. Please consider contributing here to send a little love their way.

With gratitude,

Sheila Colla, Christina Colla and Bridget Ku
