Father's Last Wish

Hello, family and friends. As some of you may know, my family and I are going through a very tough time right now. On New Year’s Eve, we received a heart-wrenching phone call. We had just been informed that my father had suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhagic stroke. At the time, my father was visiting family in his hometown, Ameca, Jalisco, Mexico. My family and I hopped on the next available flight in hopes of seeing him alive. Upon arrival, he was already in a coma. My dad fought long and hard for his life but despite extensive measures, the damages he underwent were too severe. Sadly, just a couple of days later, on January 3, 2018, he passed. He was only 57 years old. 

My dad was a very hard working man. He would raise money by recycling cans, hand-washing cars, and working a side job; all while maintaining a full-time job. In other words, my dad went out and beyond to be able to provide for his family. He was loved and cherished by many, was the life of the party, and would do anything to put a smile on your face.

Due to these sudden events, unexpected travel expenses and medical bills have put a huge financial strain on my family. As unfortunate as this event is, my dad would always say how he wanted to be buried in Ameca (his hometown). We want to respect and grant him his last final wish. Any help and or assistance will be dearly appreciated.

Hola, familia y amigos. Como algunos de ustedes saben, mi familia y yo estamos pasando por un momento muy difícil. En la víspera de Año Nuevo, recibimos una llamada telefónica desgarradora. Nos acaban de informar que mi padre sufrió un derrame cerebral hemorrágico masivo. En ese momento, mi padre estaba visitando a su familia en su ciudad natal, Ameca, Jalisco, México. Mi familia y yo los subimos en el siguiente vuelo disponible con la esperanza de verlo con vida. Al llegar, ya estaba en coma. Mi padre luchó duramente por su vida, pero a pesar de las medidas exhaustivas, los daños que sufrió fueron demasiado severos. Lamentablemente, solo un par de días después, el 3 de enero del 2018, falleció. Solo tenía 57 años.

Mi papá era un hombre muy trabajador. Recaudaba dinero reciclando latas, lavando autos a mano y trabajando en otro trabajo ligero; todo mientras mantenía un trabajo de tiempo completo. En otras palabras, mi papá hacia cualquier cosa para poder mantener a su familia. Él era amado y querido por muchos, era la vida de la fiesta y haría cualquier cosa para verte  sonreír.

Debido a estos eventos repentinos, los gastos de viaje inesperados y las facturas médicas han puesto una gran carga financiera en mi familia. Por desafortunado que sea este evento, mi padre siempre decía cómo quería ser enterrado en Ameca (su ciudad natal). Queremos respetar y otorgarle su último deseo. Cualquier ayuda o asistencia será muy apreciada.
