Shannon needs our help!

Our friend, who we are seeking funds for, is named Shannon. She is a single mother, and  great person and friend.  She needs help with raising $20,000. This amount is needed to cover the insurance co-pay, and travel expenses to PA (which is where the surgery will be).   She lost OVER 220 pounds, but left behind is a massive amount of skin causing serious medical issues. 

Please understand, this surgery is NOT cosmetic, but will save her life.  One of the nation's leading surgeons is Dr. Moya who practices in Philadelphia has agreed to perform skin removal surgery as he believes she is a perfect candidate. He uses/created a technique called "corset body lift" which will remove 25 to 30 pounds nonfunctioning skin. He specializes in this type of surgery created specifically for those that have have experienced extreme weightloss. Local surgeons would perform surgery in multiple, similar procedures resulting in multiple insurance co-pays and out of pocket costs and leave more skin and scares from the research done.  The recovery would also be more difficult. In the future, she will have to have additional surgeries on her legs and arms, but key focus right now is her stomach as the extra skin is causing many health issues  including skin rashes and skin breakdown.  She has difficulty walking and with her balance from the swelling and numbness in her legs from the weight of the leftover skin. Once she  recovers from the surgery, she will continue to exercise and diet to maintain a healthy lifestyle and is looking into continuing education in diet and nutrition.
