A Grieving Mother’s Wish

Very recently I lost my 30 year old son in a devastating accident. Unfortunately, as is the case with many

young people, he had no life insurance. I‘ve been a single mother for many years, raising my 9 children.

Currently I’m a single grandmother raising two grandsons, ages 10 and 13. I have a job with a wonderful

non-profit organization and enjoy volunteering at my local church. As an officer of the post with Society

of American Military Engineers (SAME), I also donate my time and talents by managing home repair

projects through Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2).

My plan is for a pragmatic cremation for my son and then my wish is to have a lovely memorial service

to celebrate his life. The expenses involved include the cremation fee, the venue charge for the

memorial service, pastor and musician honorariums, as well as outlay for the many family members who

will be coming here for the service and staying for a few days.

I am asking for your thoughtful generosity to help me provide a loving tribute to my son and also closure

for his loved ones who are left behind.
