Eric's Recovery

Donation protected
On Friday August 24th, Eric got into a bad accident while on his Harley. A van pulled an illegal u-turn and didn't see Eric coming; there was no time for Eric to slow down and he hit the van then ended up partly under it. He was taken to the Smithers hospital right away, and from there, they assessed the damage that was done. The x-rays showed that Eric's right hip and shin were completely shattered. He also had some trauma to the head but thankfully the helmet saved his life.
Eric has been unconscious since the accident but started to wake up so the doctors had to sedate him.

They medivacked  him to Vancouver General Hospital that evening.
He has had a couple of surgeries on his hip and leg already but will need more in the future to continue fixing his broken bones.
His hip has a fracture but should heal on its own, and there is a break in the thigh bone that has been set but will also need surgery later on.
The doctors are satisfied with how the surgeries have gone so far.

Thankfully, there was no fracture to the skull from the impact, but there was a minor bleed in the brain. There is an invasive monitor to the brain that is constantly keeping the doctors aware of his stats.
To help with the swelling of the brain, the doctors at VGH are going to keep Eric sedated.
His brain will continue being monitored closely by the doctors.

We started the GofundMe account to help Eric and his family out with the expenses of living/travel and his bills as he will most likely be in the Vancouver Hospital for a few months or more.
Once you get admitted into a hospital your life stops, but the everyday bills don't.

Everyone who knows Eric knows that he is the kind of guy that always puts family and friends first. It has always been this way with him. I know that everyone has a life and bills of their own, but even $5 helps. Thats enough to buy his mom a coffee and a muffin after a long sleepless, worry-filled night so that she can have the energy to go sit by his bed and tell him how loved and needed he is back home.  Or to buy his dog, whom he loves so much, a day or 2 of dog food.
I know how easy it is to think "I have my own life to think about" or "i don't know this guy so its not really my concern". But if you see this, you know someone who loves and worries about him.

So please, help them by helping him.
