Karen's Cancer Treatment

My mom, Karen Hunt, was diagnosed with two different forms of kidney cancer more than two years ago; renal cell carcinoma in one kidney and a form of bladder cancer in the other kidney. Renal cell was not considered aggressive; however, they had to remove that kidney because of the cancer being in the renal artery.
The other form is considered aggressive and typical radiation and chemotherapy do not have an impact. So, they have been doing ablation therapy at Cleveland Clinic for the past two years. The typicall cause of this type of cancer is smoking which our mother never did.
A new drug treatment shows promise, however. It is Keytruda and the success rate for this type of cancer is high. The cost is over $12,000 per treatment and treatments are every 3 weeks. She received a coverage to take care of all but $400 each treatment.
$400 every three weeks for a person on a fixed income is impossible. We are trying to raise enough money to cover 20 treatments for her.
These treatments are absolutely necessary for her to live. The ablation therapy just delays the cancer's progression and she has not fared well after each with hospital stays of up to 1 month following two separate treatments.
