On March 3, 2025, our home was struck by lightning. Fortunately, no one was home, except for two of our cats (they didn’t make it out). Our home and workshop were a 100% loss. We have insurance; unfortunately, it isn’t going to cover the cleanup and a secure building we need to begin to rebuild.

We have a camping trailer I use to work jobs all around the nation (I am a Union pipe fitter). My trailer was not on site as I was in Fulton, Missouri, at the time of the home burning to the ground. My wife and daughter were at work in Russellville, Arkansas, at the time. I was notified after the fire department was battling the blaze.

I need to have a building built to put my travel trailer and space for storage of building materials. The ground is not level and is going to require a large amount of dirt work for the building's foundation. By our estimates, we will need about $50,000.00 in earthworks and cleanup.

We built the home in 1992 and planned on retiring here. The first thing my wife said when I asked her if she wanted to buy somewhere and move what few things we have, her answer was, "I can’t imagine living anywhere else; I want to rebuild."
