My kidney transplant

First let me start by saying thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers.  My kidney disease that was first discovered when I was pregnant over 15 years ago has progressed to the point of needing a transplant.  All the positive thoughts and prayers have worked and I am scheduled to receive my new kidney on Sept. 8!!!!  I am  happy, nervous, scared, relieved and so much more all rolled into one.  But I know God has my back and all will be fine.  My hero is Jenn Baker who stepped up to be a donor immediately and without hesitation.  Although she is not a firm match we were able to proceed through the pairing program.  There is no way to thank someone for this totally selfless act of kindness.  She even took the leap of faith knowing she did not have enough vacation and sick time to cover her time off.  People at work have generously donated time to get her covered.  I am just trying to ensure that she encounter no hardships financially by giving me the gift of life.  Funds raised will go to her as a thank you for the gift of life that she is giving me.  I realize that I will never be able to thank her enough and there is no gift as great as what she is giving but it is my way of trying.  In addition, my mom is taking an enormous time off of work as well without vacation or sick time to use so I would like to be able to help her out as well.  She is stepping up and volunteering to help maintain some normalcy for my girl while I am not able to fulfill my role as her mom.  She is doing this without regard for her needs and I love her for that.  Lastly, my husband too will be taking time off without pay which will be difficult for us as we navigate the healing process.  So I am asking for any support you may have to offer.  Your generosity will be a blessing for many folks.  Thank you so much and please continue to send prayers for success and healing.  Also please feel free to share this post as you are able.  Thanks again and God bless!!!!
