Lori has been battling leukocytoclastic vasculitis for the past several months with many ups and downs. She has experienced short breaks from this disease, however, majority of the time she has spent restricted to her house. The skin sores from this disease are painfull and she needs to be cautious to not come in contact with germs since the medications she is on weakens her immune system.
Our goal is to help Lori with her growing medical bills, daily expenses, and a trip to the Cleveland Clinic for furhter evaluation and treatment. While she is still able to work from home, the side effects of her treatment prevent her from working a full day. Her insurance does cover some of the costs, but Lori's portion of the bills are growing by the day.

The skin is the main area where leukocytoclastic vasculitis manifests, particularly on the legs, though it can occur in other areas as well. The discolorations it causes are known as purpura. These small spots, caused by bleeding under the skin, can be red or purple in color and are typically raised from the skin. They may be painful or itchy, although in some patients the purpura cause no discomfort at all. The lesions may remain small, or they may grow and combine to form larger spots and sometimes open sores.
