Leaving 8 children behind

Donation protected
My mother ( age 39 ) was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer.

She will be leaving behind 8 children and a loving husband.

Her children are Moises ( 22 ) , Jorge ( 21 ), Austin ( 19 ), Martha ( 17 ), David ( 13 ), Jenny ( 7 ), Alain ( 6 ), and Jayden ( 3 ).

Her journey battling cancer began on September 23, 2017.

The original prognosis was that she  had colon cancer which spread to her ovaries and her lungs, the cancer was successfully removed from her colon and ovaries.

Although, the cancer was too advanced in her lungs, therefore, the chemotherapy was unsuccessful because her body is too weak to receive further treatment due to it’s rapid pace.

A cancerous tumor began to grow on her back and she had to receive radiation, sadly, this treatment was unsuccessful too.

My mother has health insurance, but the treatments she needs are not covered by any insurance.

We have taken her to 4 different hospitals and institutions in hope of finding a more aggressive treatment, but doctors say her metastatic cancer is spreading too quickly.

She has grown numerous amounts of balls and blisters on her back and her head, which has caused her an immense amount of pain.

We would have never thought that in less than a year our life would have completely turned upside down.

In addition…

In this last year, my father lost his employment due to him having a stroke, which prevented him from working which resulted in our eviction from the home.

Once we became homeless, we found ourselves sleeping in an F-150 work truck on a Wal-Mart parking lot.

We constantly called shelters to ask for help and each one denied us because of how large our family was, there was no space.

We came across someone who helped us get put into a homeless shelter, which not much after my mother found out she had cancer.

It’s a lot for one family to take in all at once, so much unexpected change happening in a year.

Our family currently stays in a section 8, government provided home, therefore, funds are barely enough to get us through a day and medical expenses are extremely expensive.

Imagine, put yourself in my father’s position. A man who will be forced to raise 8 children by himself, it’s hard enough as it is because of his own medical condition.
