Jaime's Cancer Battle

Donation protected
My name is Bridget King and I would like to tell you the story of my beautiful sister, Jaime and her battle with breast cancer.

Jaime is a young (44 years) vibrant married mother of two girls with a full life when her whole world turned upside down. She was diagnosed in June 2013 (she was then 42)  with stage 4 breast cancer. She discovered a lump in her left breast and after a confirmed mammogram they immedidately started testing to see what they were dealing with. The cancer was not only in her breasts, it had metasticized to other parts of her body and into her bones and spine. The pain she was dealing with was unbearable. She dealt with 6 months of continuous chemotherapy treatments and all the pain that is associated with that. They were trying to shrink the tumors and get the cancer back to a localized area.  After the long batle with the treatments they did a double mastectomy and reconstruction. This was some of the worst pain I have ever witnessed my sister having. She thought this would be the answer to the biggest tumors and she could start seeing her life get back to normal.

The final tests revealed that she was in remission. After a full year of treatments, surgeries, worries and pain, she could finally breath easier. Until.. December 2014 when she was tested again... They found an agressive tumor and other smaller tumors in her back, spine and hips. The pain has been so bad she can barely stand. The doctors have put her on a waiting list for radiation to try to aleave some of th e pain. This is torture to someone that has built their career being on their feet.

That brings me to the reason for the financial help that my sister is in need. Jaime has been a cosmotologist hair dresser for over 20 years. It has been something she has always wanted to do. Since we were kids, she has always loved doing people's hair.  Her dream was to own her own salon and do the thing she loves the most forever! Exactly one year before her diagnosis, Jaime got her dream. She got a loan and the courage to leave the salon she was working to open her own salon! I have never been so proud of my sister finally living the dream she always had. SInce she started the chemo she has been unable to work. She has been so sick and in so much pain  she just cannot stand on her feet all day. At this point, she cannot stand for more than 15 minutes. Even after all the treatments and the few short months of no symptons, she tried to work. She just wants to make people beautiful and work to support her family. Jaime is married and has two teenage daughters (one in the first year of college and one in high school). She has always been the bread winner and even though her husband works, the bills are just piling up from Jaime not being able to work.  She is very proud and would never ask for any help from others, but she is DESPERATE! They are having such a struggle with monthly bills, medical bills and daily expenses.

Please consider helping my sister get back on her feet. She needs all the help she can get.

Thank you in advance for your help.
