Hurricane Harvey Home Repairs

I live in League City, Texas and I work for Centerpoint Energy. Our main effort during these storms is to roll out during any and all weather situations imaginable and restore power to people that need it. It's a very gratifying feeling to help people in need, and I love what I do.

As an emergency first responder, I am not willing or allowed to evacuate. I stayed and hunkered down with my lady. We rescue animals in our spare time, and had 10 cats in the house which were our priority. Some amazing people came by in kayaks which allowed us to load them up and get them to safety, but in being forced to choose what to take we have lost everything except my work gear/uniforms, the cats, and our lives. We have no clothes, everything in the house is a total loss, and we just need some help rebuilding and getting back on our feet. Both of our cars are underwater, the house will need extensive repairs, and we'll need to replace almost everything we had.

I am a Marine Corps veteran and my (pretty much) wife is a former Naval Officer. We may be able to look into some kind of VA assistance, but that process is extremely slow and unreliable. Please help if you can, the situation is desperate. I wouldn't be here making this page otherwise.
