Amairani and Matteo

Update - The family no longer needs a stroller and a carseat.
As a NICU nurse we come across a lot of families that become dear to us. On Monday August 12th, 2019 one of our past babies, Matteo and his mom Amairani were in a car accident that was fatal to Amairani and left Matteo in the ICU. Anyone who knew Amairani knew she was such an amazing mom and Matteo was her whole life. We are devastated by this news. Amairani was a single mom, luckily she had a great support system. Her parents have stated they need a new car seat and stroller since Matteo was in the car seat at the time of the accident and the stroller was in the car. We are hoping to go beyond giving them enough for a stroller and car seat and raise enough money to help them with funeral expenses and any expenses for Matteo. If you would donate to help them in anyway it would be very appreciated. If you want to donate in person we will be collecting money in the St. Joe's NICU talk with the charge nurse if interested. Please help this family during a very difficult time.

Amairani served as the Chief of Police of our Police Explorer program for a number of years as a student at Foster High School and in the years following. She dedicated countless hours to bettering the lives of others and supporting the Tukwila community. Amairani was also a long-term seasonal employee with the Tukwila Parks & Recreation Department and an Americorps volunteer in emergency management with the Tukwila Fire Department.
