Help save our Joy

Every mother prays for a beautiful, intelligent and healthy child. Meet six year old Joy Koranteng; an answer to her mother's prayer. Just like her name, she exudes joy to everyone around her. Joy dreams of becoming a medical doctor and her mother dreams of that graduation day. Yet, just a week ago, a crack appeared in both dreams. 

A week ago, Joy was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and is currently undergoing radical chemotherapy. Nevertheless, to give her a good chance of recovery and survival, she needs an urgent medical transfer to South Africa for life-saving treatment estimated at $50,000. Her mother, Anna Koranteng, a secondary school teacher at WGHS, Cape Coast, Ghana, is unable to single-handedly raise this much needed amount. 

This is why we, Anna's family and friends and WGHS/ NRL alumini, both in Ghana and the diaspora, have come together to help raise funds for Joy's medical expenses both in Korle Bu, Accra, Ghana and abroad. Donations will also go towards travel and living expenses for both Anna and Joy as they embark on the second phase of her treatment abroad. We will ensure that every penny raise is placed directly into Anna's hands for the purposes mentioned.

Anna says “The thought of losing my Joy is an unbearable one but that is what I face, unless I am able to raise this amount immediately. So I make this humble appeal to you for financial assistance in order to give my brilliant girl the chance to live. Without your kind donation, Joy might not make it. Please lend a helping hand to save my baby's life”.
