Ray Worden's Sloan Kettering Fund

Hello family and friends. I have started a Go Fund Me account to raise funds to help my brother, Ray Worden with medical and travel expenses. As many of you know Ray has been struggling with throat cancer that has metastasized to his hip, pelvic bone and areas surrounding. For those of you who do not know Ray, his wife Leigh Ann, his daughter Anna, and his son Jack, they have been battling this horrific disease for the past two years. Ray has received excellent medical care at Emory University of Atlanta, but his oncologist has given them the news that no one wants to hear: "We have nothing left to help you." Ray contacted Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in NYC to see if he would qualify for experimental treatment. Ray and Leigh Ann have traveled to MSK three times for tests and advice, and they have finally been informed that Ray has qualified for a clinical trial treatment. Although truly grateful, there is ALWAYS a matter of expense that comes with cancer treatment. They are at the mercy of last minute appointments and changing schedules which becomes very expensive especially at the last minute.. This of course would eat into any family's budget, and limits their opportunities for family time together. They are trying to carry on with normal family outings and vacations to help two teenagers cope with the stress of their dad's situation. Anna will graduate in May and attend the University of Georgia in the fall and Jack is a sophomore at Marietta High School. This family's blessing and gratitude will go out to anyone that can assist with the travel and treatment costs for these much needed procedures. Thank you and God bless.
