As most of you know, I’m currently a freshman at the University of Georgia. I can’t believe it, but I am already through my first semester of college! Even though I was very nervous to leave Macon and come to Athens to start my next chapter, I have been incredibly blessed with an amazing experience so far. The Lord has surely been good to me!
One of my main concerns coming to college was not being able to find a strong Christian community like I had at home, but luckily that has not been the case! From my roommate to my bible studies to my sorority sisters, I have an amazing group of people that I am pursuing Jesus with daily. My first semester would have been a lot harder without the encouragement that these people give me. Many of these relationships were made or strengthened through a campus ministry that I’m involved in, Campus Crusades (Cru).
Every spring break, Cru partners with an amazing organization in Haiti called Mission of Hope (MOH) to give the opportunity for UGA students to help serve, love, and share the Gospel to the people of Haiti. MOH has done some amazing things in Haiti and everything they do is completely centered around Christ. The students that go on this trip serve by sharing their faith with the people of the community, playing with and loving on children who don’t get to experience this fun and love everyday, and building/working on houses for families that still don’t have one since the earthquake of 2010.
My heart leapt when a Cru staff member reached out to me about this trip. I love doing service projects and have wanted to go on a mission trip for years now, but the opportunity has never been right. After lots of prayer and talking with my friends and leaders, I knew God was telling me that this was the right opportunity and He wanted me to take it!
I couldn’t be more thankful and excited to serve on this trip! Just the idea that I could share the Gospel with someone who has never heard it makes my heart race. But I know that this trip would not be possible or successful without the support of my friends and family. Most importantly, I ask for your support through prayer. This is a big step in my Walk, and it’s one that I’m a little nervous about. So your prayers would be very much appreciated! Then, if you are willing and able, you may help support me financially for this trip. GoFundMe makes it quick and easy to donate directly to the fund of the trip, and every donation helps.
Thank you SO much for any and all support! My hope is that God will use me to touch unreached hearts and turn them to Him. Thank you so much for your consideration, God bless!
Lots of love,
“Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!” (1 Chronicles 16:24)
