Dawn Burk's Leukemia Fund

There have been so many clients, friends and family who have asked what, more than prayers, can they do for my family. Having grocery and bill money, especially for the next 6 to 8 weeks would really help. So I thought I would set this up for those who would like to take advantage of it. Of course prayers are still at the top of my list.

For those of you who may not know my situation, I have a fiance that I have lived with for almost 4 years. Together we have 6 fabulous children and two granddaughters. Only 4 of the children live with us....2 boys (8 & 10) and 2 girls (13 & 14). They are all working together to keep the house running as close to normal as possible, with the unexpected departure of Mom.

About two years ago I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. I fought back with chemo, a double mastectomy and radiation...that I worked all the way through. I was told later that the breast I had removed electively had cancer in it as well. I really felt I had dodged a giant bullet.

Well it now appears that the treatment that saved my life from Breast Cancer has now given me Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This is a rare situation, but does happen on occasion. I will be in the hospital for quite a while getting a lot of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant... But I will beat this too.
