Support the Kids: Kiss A Pig!
To The Wonderful People Reading This:
Besides my kids, nothing has quite completed my life like finally realizing and accepting my call to ministry. Working with and teaching the children of Extreme Worship & Outreach Center has opened my eyes, once again, to what the love of God looks like thru the eyes of a child; comforting, complete, enduring. I stand in awe of what God can, and is, doing in the lives of our children on a daily basis. Week by week I see them blossoming in Christ: singing to God in worship, competing against each other to memorize scripture, the look on their faces when they grasp the "Bottom Line" of our lesson. My prayer for our children this year is that they will continue to grow in love and grace, and will spread that to the people, not just children, around them.
Unfortunatly, like everything in life, running a growing Childrens Ministry requires a steady stream of financial support. Week by week snacks are handed out, crafts are completed, prizes are won, and curriculum is needed.
We are currently in need of basic supplies. Our crayons are broken, the markers are dry, don't even get me started on the glue sticks! Each classroom needs a supplies cabinet, a white board, a facelift.
When the topic of fundraising arose I shuddered at the thought of selling anything, be it candles or cookie dough. (Besides, Girl Scout Cookie season is coming up...and...let's be honest, nothing competes with them). Most fundraiser are outdated and overdone...and then I ran across this. THIS FUNDRAISER packs a punch with a very rewarding (eh, maybe?) ending for one lucky person. I am pleased to introduce our very first annual Support the Kids: Kiss A Pig crowd involved fundraiser.
The rules are simple:
There are 3 contestants, Pastor Aaron Hunter, Matt Bills, and myself.
The congregation can "vote" for one person, whichever person! to kiss a pig, A REAL ONE!
Voting (donating money and putting it in the coordinating jar) will take place 24/7, either by placing a donation here, or physically putting money in the jar at church.
Voting will last for 6 weeks, with the winner kissing a swine right after out morning service on March 1st.
We hope to raise $2500.00 for our Childrens Ministry this year! This will supply us with enough money to throw out all the old, damaged supplies and buy all new. It will also help us supply snacks to the childen on Sunday morning, purchase curriculum and prizes, give the class rooms much needed supply cabinets, and support the week to week expenses that come with the territory.
No donation is too small, $5 is just as important as $50. Sowing into the lives of children is something you will never take for granted, I can personally attest to this.
