Save My Mom's Home from Foreclosure

Donation protected
Over a year ago, my 78-year old mother, Verna, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and because I am her only remaining child, I did not hesitate to move back to Ohio to become her primary caregiver. In August of 2013, I permanently moved into Verna’s home (the house in which I grew up), and I am officially her full time caregiver. I love her so much, and I do not regret my decision to be with her one bit. Because my mother cannot be left alone for extended periods, my employment is not a viable option at this time.

Due to devastating healthcare bills and bureaucracy (which has been dragging on, unresolved, for months), Verna is without funds, and her home is now in foreclosure. Keeping her in her home environment is the best thing for my mother’s mental and physical wellbeing. Five months ago, Verna’s primary source of income (her widow’s pension) was temporarily turned off because of a complicated, government red tape nightmare, and her mortgage is past due. I am struggling to pay the rising mountain of bills for medications and vital living necessities, like heating oil, critical plumbing and house repairs, and a functioning stove. We need emergency financial assistance to keep from losing our home, and I am asking for your help.

Please help me keep my mom, Verna, in her home. Thank you so very much.
