Lymphoma sucks! Stephanie's fight

My name is Stephanie Lindley, I am 26 years old and have always been healthy.  Until December 2 when I was experiencing extremely intense pain under my right shoulder blade.  Thinking it was just muslce, I shrugged it off... until it got so bad that I went to the Emergency.  The Dr on-call initially thought it was mucle pain, or at worst Plurisy and gave me pain medication that did nothing for the pain.  He then ordered an X-ray and said it came back clear, but I could tell by the look on his face that he was hiding something from me.   The next morning the phone was ringing off the hook as my family doctor, the E.R doctor and Kamloops Hospital were all frantically trying to get ahold of me.   (NOT A GOOD SIGN)  Finally I was told "Something" had appeared on the X ray and they wanted a CAT scan done ASAP!! After a lond day at the hospital I was admitted into the ER in Kamloops and was told to wait for a "Specialist" to come see me.   Sitting in the room with my mom at my side, my heart raced as I hoped for the best but feared the worst... FINALLY the curtain flung open and the doctor came in.  "It's not good" were his first words, then he continued to tell me that a MASS had shown up in the right side of my chest... and that they werent sure if it was malignant (cancer) or benign (not-cancer) and that they'd have to do more tests to determine the next move. Fighting through the tears my mom then called my fiance and he Immidiatly  rushed home from his job in Alberta to be by my side and hasnt left since.
After a 2 week stay in the hospital, a biopsy, an ultra sound & countless bloodwork the results were in.
Surrounded by my family, I anxiously waited for the Doctor to come in with the results..... Finally he came in and the room went silent and I knew it wasnt good... "The test results show that the mass in your chest is 7.5 cm & is beleived to be Lymphoma... I'm sorry" .....was the first thing he said.

BOOM!!  It felt like I had been punched in the chest and I just sat there.  Shock filled the room, it was all so unbelievalbe.   So many thoughts rushed through my head at the time,  one minute I was an excited bride to be planning my wedding to the man of my dreams and the next I was face-to-face with CANCER???!?!?!?

After that there were so many tests to be run to determine the Type of Lymphoma (as there are many subtypes) and the exact location of my Tumor as well as to make sure it hadn't spread to other parts of my body.   Finally it was determined that I have Stage 2B HODGKINS Lymphoma, and that the Tumor had grown 4 cm in 2 weeks... and had strategically placed itself on my heart <3.   Therefor, surgery was too risky and I was told that it  will be treated with an aggressive chemotherapy regime that will last 6 months and will result in extreme fatigue low immune system and hair loss.

As if all of this wasnt hard enough, my doctors told me that I would not be able to return to work "any time soon" and I had to leave my job.  This then opened up a new can of worries as I've found out first hand that the world doesnt stop spinnin and life doesnt stop moving because you have cancer! Bills need to be paid, travel expenses need to be covered and future obligations need to be considered and with my having to leave my job and my fiance having to leave his job to be with me and be my support our financial obligations have become over whelming. With that said this is where I now turn to friends and family and to my community for help with everyday things we take for granted like groeries and bills and just everyday life. my newest worry is that i have been told  by my doctors that the chemotheropy that will help fight  my cancer will unfortunatly effect my future in terms of children. My doctor has recommended the option of fertility treatment which can be very costly.
I would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support through social media and by phone. It means the world to me knowing that Im not in this fight alone. And through the many emotions I am feeling " DETERMINATION" is the most prominent and i am confidant I will beat this.
Anything you can give helps. Thank you
