Nicaragua Water Filtration System

We want to tell you about a huge need we discovered while on mission in Nicaragua and how each one of you can be part of meeting this need!

Part of a six-woman team, we went primarily to lead a women's conference for a local ministry called Preparing Approved Workmen for Nicaragua.  (For more on PAWN, see here: http://pawnministries.org/.)  PAWN Ministries tirelessly seeks opportunities to come alongside the people of the country in so many ways!  And so while there, our team went to the village of La Concepcion to help paint a church.

The people of La Concepcion are warm and joyful people!  The schoolchildren across the street welcomed us with big smiles and some older kids even came over to help us  paint.

As our day of service began, our mission leader shared how contaminated this town's drinking water really was and the health conditions that are caused by having to drink it on a daily basis.  Liver disease, kidney disease and birth defects are common in this village.

Then our mission leader shocked us when he said that he knew of a way to bring clean water to this village for $5,000!  $5,000 for an entire village!

We immediately thought of all of our generous and kind friends back home!  We thought of you!

We thought of the joy and satisfaction it would be for all of us to accomplish this important and life-giving mission together!  How often do we pursue goals that may take years to develop?  Yet, this simple goal of raising $5,000 can be quickly achieved!  How rewarding and what a blessing to La Concepcion!

A ministry called "Air Mobile Ministries" has been bringing water purification systems to 40 countries worldwide with over 800 units deployed. The Air Mobile Rescuer water purifier can produce up to 25 gallons of pure water every hour, which is enough drinking water for 500 people per day.  La Concepcion will need 2 complete systems to meet the water needs of the village.

I am imagining the warm, generous smiles on the faces of the people of La Concepcion, so thankful for clean drinking water!  So, please, give a little or give a lot--the months of April through May!  I am so thankful for how each one us will participate!

And if you're in the Austin area, come out to the Red Horn Coffee House & Brewing Co. on April 15th from 8:00pm-10:00and show your support for our cause Taylor Stearns will be performing live!

Thankful for you,
Taylor, Lisa, Conni, Kristi, Stacey, and Anne Marie
