Funeral Expenses

I truly dislike resorting to this, but often one has no choice. My mom passed away unexpectedly on June 20. She and my stepdad were on a fixed income (as am I), and my mother had no life insurance policy. This has created the burden of a funeral expense that neither I nor my stepdad are able to fully meet.
Because of this, we have decided on cremation and a memorial service because it's less expensive.
