Get back in school.

I started my collegiate career at Jackson State University. I played there for about three years before I made the worst mistake of my life. After the first semester of school that year (2016), I went home to a family situation that I only saw one way out of at the time. To make a long story short, I was arrested for second-degree burglary. If you were to google my name you can find the story. I lost everything I had and from that point on I just knew that I would never see the field again, but I always knew that I would go back and get my degree. I have been given a second chance to do both. I received a scholarship from Lane College in Tennessee. A second chance to do what I love. A chance to show people that I am more than just a felon. This was a bad situation for me but a lot of good came from it. I learned the power of affirmation and how important faith is. I also learned the importance of never giving up on something you love. I’ve learned a lot about myself this year. I never thought that I would be given this chance again, and now it’s staring me in the face. My situation has given me the ability to appreciate everything. To be grateful for the simplest things that we take for granted everyday, and that’s the greatest gift of all. The reason why I am raising this money is because I owe Jackson State and they will not release my transcripts until my fines are paid. I am starting this because I don’t want to let 1,500 dollars put my future on hold. I’m not a criminal or a bad person. I just made a mistake and I’ve had a year to learn from it. I’ve been lost wondering what was next in life for me. This is it. I appreciate anyone willing to help. Even if you see this and wish me the best, I appreciate it.
