Jyn's Dog Training

Donation protected
This is Sean and his new dog Jyn. Jyn is a 3 year old Alaskan Malamute and our goal is to train Jyn to be Sean's comfort and therapy dog.

Sean is deaf and autistic. We found a program through Sit Means Sit Dog Training where we can eventually get Jyn certified to be a therapy dog. The first step in the program is getting Jyn into the 14 day immersion program with private training followed by one year of group training. The initial cost is for $2515 (this includes 14 days of private training with a certified instructor + the 1st year of group training). As I mentioned this is the first step, and there will be other costs as we progress, but we need to get started as soon as possible (the next available slot for the 14 day training is September 13, 2017).

Unfortunately, Jyn is easily distracted by small animals (exhibiting some prey drive) and her surroundings so we need to get her trained soonest in order to break her of these bad habits and help her to be the best dog for Sean. Sean loves big fluffy dogs as he is very tactile which is why we desperately want this relationship to work out. Jyn is a great dog, and with the right training and your help we can get her trained to be the best companion Sean needs.
