Support for Ash!

On Boxing Day 2019 my best friend Ashleigh had a severe spinal stroke, this left her totally paralysed from the neck down. Ashleigh was only a few weeks pregnant when this horrific incident happened. She now has movement in her arms but still left wheelchair bound. Life has been such a struggle from that moment on for herself and her family. Not only has her partner Stephen had to quit his job to take care of her and their little baby boy Jacob along with 2 other children, her mam has also had to leave her full time job and go part time to support her daughter through the 24 hour care she needs. 

To make things worse Ash needs a lot of different types of equipment to get through her day. A lot of equipment have not been provided yet as the cost of the equipment is extortionate and they simply can’t afford it. They have also had to accept the fact that they are only entitled to a small amount of carers allowance per week which simply does not cover the price of bills, to feed and provide for a family of 5 and to pay the rent. They have lost a lot of money since Boxing Day 2019 and this will hopefullyhelp in some way to get the family out of financial difficulties. 

Ash being Ash has been very strong through this full situation and will continue with her positivity. She never asks for help even when she needs it. 

I’ve created this page simply to help the family and Ashleigh in the best way I can and hopefully this helps provide some of the equipment that she needs to get by day to day life for example a hoist which will cost £1000.
