To all who love the Tucker family (and there are many) we need your help. As many of you know, David is in the midst of a serious health condition.
In the Spring he started noticing weakness in his legs and right side. Very quickly his mobility began to be compromised. Over the last eight months he has gone from a cane, to a walker, to a wheelchair, and now needs help 24/7 with the most basic things to get through his day. Needless to say it has been devastating for David, Sabine and the girls.
Doctors have diagnosed him with everything from ALS, to neurodegenerative conditions, to extreme Lyme and mold exposure. What we do know is that it is serious and David needs cutting edge treatments to rise above this medical challenge.
Already David has been in the hands of the best medical professionals and healers available. He has received hyperbaric oxygen treatments, lyme and mold treatments, healings from his indigenous elders and his community, acupuncture, and most recently found his way to an incredible team of doctors and neurologists out of Yale and Harvard. Through this all, David continues to meet the experience with strength and conviction holding it as a deep initiation on his path.
These doctors are the leading experts on ALS, Parkinson's and Alzheimers. It is a miraculous story of how David found his way to them and how they immediately saw the light in David's eyes and the beauty in his heart and moved mountains to get him in for treatment. Just before Christmas David flew to the east coast and received an extremely cutting edge treatment with this team. The treatment involved heating David's body to extreme temperatures for over two and a half hours. It was an excruciating process for David and he met it like a true warrior.
David had some hopeful outcomes from the treatment. The twitching in his body decreased, he had more movement in his feet and arms, and he was able to use his walker more right after the treatment than he had in weeks before. Given these results, the doctors were encouraged and said his body and brain responded which means there is a chance that they can turn his neurological condition around. They believe that David's condition and all of the neurological disorders they treat are infectious and that they are on the cusp of a massive breakthrough that will render these conditions obsolete.
David's doctors are having unheard of results with their patients. We met people with ALS and Parkinson's who no longer needed a walker after treatments. We met others who couldn't hold anything in their hands and now could open water bottles and shave on their own. It was beyond moving to meet and embrace these people and their families knowing that the same is possible for our beloved David.
While nothing is guaranteed, there is definite hope that with this treatment David can prevail over his health challenges. He is in the hands of the best medical professionals who also happen to be deeply spiritual men and love and get David at a much deeper level. They are 100% devoted to him and believe in his ability to heal himself with this treatment. We have done the math and all of this is going to cost David and Sabine over the next six months close to $75-$100K.
David and Sabine were hesitant to reach out to their community for support as we all know they are humble and don't want to "burden" anyone. A small group of us have helped them see that the burden would be not to allow the community that loves them to help. David and Sabine have dedicated their lives to service and have given so much to all of us and the planet over the years.
