This fund has been established to pay honor to a great man, our Friend, John C. Williams. We, John's friends, are raising money to help our dear brother and his lovely wife Lisa. The money will be used by John and Lisa as they see fit to cover medical expenses and daily needs as John has been diagnosed with ALS.
"ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. A-myo-trophic comes from the Greek language. "A" means no. "Myo" refers to muscle, and "Trophic" means nourishment – "No muscle nourishment." When a muscle has no nourishment, it "atrophies" or wastes away. "Lateral" identifies the areas in a person's spinal cord where portions of the nerve cells that signal and control the muscles are located. As this area degenerates it leads to scarring or hardening ("sclerosis") in the region."

Bro. John has lived a life of service in the name of JesusChrist. As a young man traveling the world with his mother and father and landing in Detroit, Michigan. John has given of himself for the sake of youth and young adults on the streets of Detroit for over 30 years. He is also a military veteran, servicing in Operation Desert Storm. John spent 8 years in the Michigan National Guard.
